推荐一套适合中小学生提升、成年人入门的英文原版书

　　我在阅读时会尤其注意同义词替换。

　　3 页中就出现了两种「冰淇淋店」的说法：ice cream parlor和 ice cream joint；也出现了两种表示拒绝的说法： hit the road， beat it，在这里都可以理解为「您哪凉快去哪呆着吧」。

　　妙的是后面还有一处：

　　"I make two hundred bucks a day, Fluff. Three hundred sixty-five days a year, since I was twelve. And time is money, so hop along.

　　这里的 hop along 是不是和 hit the road, beat it 是一个意思？用 hop 也非常幽默、应景儿，有点「小兔子乖乖，赶紧滚开」的意思??

　　再比如这两句：

　　She took out her earbuds and let the chaotic city sounds wash over her as she looked around, awestruck.

　　She took out her earbuds and let the chaotic city sounds wash over her as she looked around, awestruck.

　　Judt looked on, scandalized. She couldn't believe it.

　　Judt looked on, scandalized. She couldn't believe it.

　　awestruck 和 scandalized 是不是就也是同款表达？在语境中学习，然后把类似的说法总结到一起学，这样就记得轻松而且扎实。

　　

　　我还会注意最常见、实用的表达。比如下面这些话你会如何用英语表示呢？

　　1）给我腾个地儿

　　2）我得走了！

　　3）淡定！

　　4）你能不能快点啊，后面还有这么多人排队呢！

　　书中就出现了这样的说法： Bellwether, make room ? will you? Okay gotta go . Bye! Oh, Stu, pull it together . You’re holding up the line .

　　是不是比你想出的版本更简单，也就是更地道？配合电影的画面，一下自己就记住了——记住的不是冷冰冰的词，而是真正的使用情境。

　　学习表达的最小单位应该是句子。比如下面这些说法，我读的时候就忍不住直接背下来。 Fifteen years later, Judy Hopps worked her tail off in the Zootopia Police Academy. She sailed through the physical obstacles and at times even passed the other cadets.

　　这里的 work one's tail off 和 sail through 非常实用。前者可以是不是就可以用来表示发奋图强、寒窗苦读那中苦逼状态？后者可以表示「轻松通过」。

　　再比如：

　　Through persistence and perseverance, she managed to keep up and surprise everyone.

　　Through persistence and perseverance, she managed to keep up and surprise everyone.

　　I can make the world a better place—saving lives, defending the defendless!

　　I can make the world a better place—saving lives, defending the defendless!

　　简单漂亮！没得商量，直接背下来就好了，非常适合放在演讲中。persistence and perseverance 压头韵，读起来就很带感，还可以和前面的 work one's tail off 一起食用；后面这个 defend the defendless 也是低调的奢华，以后想说「保护弱者」就用它吧。

　　

　　说完了《疯狂动物城》，看看《飞屋环游记》的这句：

　　“What's wrong?” She asked, more gently. "Can't you talk? Hey, I don't bite".

　　“What's wrong?” She asked, more gently. "Can't you talk? Hey, I don't bite".

　　I don't bite 是口语中的常见表达，字面意思是「我又不咬人」，其实就是说你别怕我呀，我又不是什么洪水猛兽。

　　

　　最后看《超能陆战队》中开头这样一句：

　　Two bots enter, and one bot leaves.

　　Two bots enter, and one bot leaves.

　　这段话很简单吧？多实用！是不是有点胜者为王败者为寇、你死我活的意思？特别巧的是，前两天我在 YouTube 上看一个相机测评，那哥们在测试前就说了句：Two cameras enter, and one camera leaves。
