Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 3 (Chen Junsong and Cheng Yao) If you have friends who play games, Spielberg's new movie "Number One Player" will definitely keep appearing in your circle of friends in recent days.

Playing games, winning hundreds of millions of grand prizes, and saving the earth by the way, the three major settings directly hit the hearts of game lovers, not to mention the game eggs buried everywhere. It is no wonder that game fans are in tears: we have been rejected for a long time, and now we have a director who specializes in filming for us!

In fact, the movie setting is in accordance with the reality to some extent, especially for the multi-million-dollar and multi-million-dollar competitions, the "nimble movements" of the players, and the grand spectacle of ten thousand spectators.

Although video games were once regarded as a scourge, in recent years, with the introduction of the concept of competition, e-sports has gradually got rid of the burden of "harmful teenagers", attracted many capital and players, and grown into a huge industry. The 2017 edition of China's Game Industry Report shows that in 2017, the actual sales revenue of China's e-sports game market reached 73.05 billion yuan, up 44.8% year on year.

The reputation of this activity is also improving.E-sports have entered the classroom, entered the Asian games and are hitting the Olympics. some e-sports events have almost become widely recognized social activities.

E-sports is now in the air. It has a very large number of participants in China and can easily arouse emotional resonance. However, the popularity of the tuyere tends to make people lose rational thinking and ignore the real situation of the gaming industry under the aura of wealth and fame.In order to become the "number one player" of the electronic competition, you need to know three more things.

I: "Electronic Competition Major" ≠ Playing Games

In September 2016, the Ministry of Education added 13 specialties to higher vocational schools, including "e-sports and management", which belongs to the sports category under the major category of education and sports.Over the past year and a half, the number of specialties related to electric competition has been increasing, and the scope has also expanded from vocational colleges to full-time undergraduate colleges, even key colleges.

Many people will be curious about the "electronic competition major": can you play games and report it?Does this major teach playing games?Although some vocational schools are indeed "interested in this", some other institutions are interested in planning and operation.

In 2017, the new major "Digital Media Art" (the direction of digital entertainment) of Communication University of China was recruited for the first time. It was also nicknamed "Electronic Competition Major" for its purpose of training talents in game planning, electronic competition operation and program production.

According to the "General Rules for Recruiting Students," the school's e-sports major aims to train talents in e-sports data analysis, analysis and design of team tactics and tactics information, and competition organization and management. This shows that "playing games" is not in the plan of this course, and playing games does not mean that this course is easy.

Top universities have also begun to involve themselves in the field of electronic competition. The latest example is: Peking University opened an elective course called "General Theory of Electronic Games" this spring semester. The classroom was full and many students came.Netizens joked, "If you don't go to Peking University, you are afraid of addiction."

The course was originally scheduled to be an elective course for 120 people. As a result, the space was still "tight" after the classroom was replaced by a 180-person one due to the popularity of the elective course.

According to the report of the surging news network, according to the arrangement, the teaching content covers more than ten aspects such as the history of development, professional system and job responsibilities, design process, online games, hand tours, development tools, etc. students are also required to submit game design documents, management documents, and game evaluation as course assignments.

Second, professional electronic competition is not "fight as you like"

The word "competition" means fierce competition, which means it is not a pastime to play with your mobile phone.

Statistics show that the current number of participants in China's e-sports field is as high as 1. 5%.There are 2.4 billion people, but only a few hundred high-level players can really name them.Judging from the proportion, it is as difficult for participants to become high-level players as it is for high school students to enter key universities.

More realistically, e-sports have high requirements for hand-brain coordination, reaction speed and strategy formulation, which requires high-intensity mental work and long-term concentration. In other words, you need to be young and talented.

The golden period of an electric competitor's career is very short, and it is often around the age of 20 when he is in a rush hour, but after five or six years he is likely to be "less skilled than others".

Xinhua interviewed three top players in the competition last year. One of them, then 28, was considering retiring and thinking about his future. He wants to find a job within his power to lead a "normal life".The other player chose to retire at the age of 21.(见:专访电竞圈三位“绝世高手”,为你揭示一个真实的电竞江湖)
